Having listened to Tariq Ramdan on two occasions, I have not been able to detect a single contradiction or even ambivalence in his pronouncements. If I had to answer the question of whether he is an alley or an enemy, my answer would be without hesitation: an alley and a precious ally indeed in bridging the gap between the Muslim and so-called Western world. His advantage is to be a convinced Moslem and, therefore, part of both cultures. His value lies in the fact that he can talk to both sides.
He is intelligent enough to weigh his words carefully. Let’s make sure we don’t push him too much. If he loses credibility with the Muslem world, his value will be lost for the West too.
